I am quite possibly the least knowledgeable 18 – 40 year old North American female when it comes to Heidi Montag and her associates. Why? I find her and Lauren Conrad horribly boring. But today, I've changed my mind. This obviously very staged Mother's Day moment between Heidi, her shadow (aka Spencer) and Heidi's mom raised my blood pressure. The brain instinctively went into red alert. It screamed: SAVE THE KELLY! While Heidi's mom looks cute and simple in her shirt dress, loafers and the ever classic monogram Louis Vuitton Batignolles, the beloved Hermes Kelly hanging off of Heidi's arm makes me shudder. Upon closer inspection, this lovely Kelly looks to be fairly new and un-abused so I'm wagering that it actually belongs to some well-meaning but misguided stylist who loaned it for the purpose of this shoot. (Note to said Stylist: We need to talk.) I'm not sure of Heidi's stature (horribly boring, remember?) so I can't conclusively tell what size this lovely Kelly is, but I'm taking a guess that this is Hermes& Poussiere color, a lovely neutral with a sort of grayish undertone. The name literally means &dust'. I'll leave you to the obvious witty parallels.

Comment on Paula Abdul and her Louis Vuitton handbag in our celebrity purse forum

Has Jessica Simpson never heard of a gym bag? Sure, this classic monogram Louis Vuitton purse is fabulously luxe and fashionista-appropriate, but come on. You're working out, Jess, and you're wearing shorts and sweats. Do you really think it's the right moment to bust out the Louis? While this haute handbag features nice front pockets and some interior storage space, it definitely wasn't made to pump iron, and it certainly won't fit gym essentials like a towel and a change of clothes.
What do you think? Is Jessica smart to bring high-end style to her workout, or is she just a poseur?

Comment on Jessica Simpson's Louis Vuitton bag in our celebrity purse forum

Britney Spears has been on fire lately. She looks better, is already getting buzz for her new album and seems to be cleaning up her personal life. This picture may not be the best representation of Brit's return to form, but her Louis Vuitton Monogram Shimmer Comete handbag is still one of the chicest accessories I've seen in a long while. Limited for fall/winter &08, this light-reflecting bag has a cute pompom charm dangling from the front. Britney's been seen with this bag a few times now, and it marks a welcome respite from the Versace and Christian Audigier purses she was attached to for so long. It retails for $2260 and is also available in gold. If you'd love one for yourself, call 866-VUITTON.

Though it's somewhat predictable to spot Kim Kardashian and one or both of her sisters in tow, all toting the hottest It Bag of the moment and wearing something phenomenal, it never stops being interesting for us fashionistas. Here she is with Kourtney, carrying the big, bold and hard-to-miss Louis Vuitton Graffiti Keepall 50 from the Stephen Sprouse collection. Mixed feelings abound regarding this particular bag – some say it's tacky, others say it's bordering on perfection. Either way, it's hard to ignore, isn't it? In addition to this fuchsia, it's also available in neon green and orange. Available soon for $1610 at Louis Vuitton.

I remember when everyone had to have the Theda. This was back when Jessica and Nick were still married, and LV Murakami anything ruled the planet. The Theda isn't a very functional bag, and I've honestly never seen anyone wear it well. I can see the direction Kim Kardashian is trying to go with her look…but the execution, well, it just ain't happening. The bag is too much when paired with her print maxi and large gold earrings. I would have loved to seen her with a small clutch, but since this is KK we're talking about, I guess it had to be over the top.

Why carry one designer bag when you can carry two? Jessica Simpson once again brought out her favorite new leaf-adorned Alexander McQueen purse, but must have felt underdressed. The solution? A Louis Vuitton dog-carrier for her pup Daisy, of course! It's a little OTT, and I'm still not sold on the McQueen, but I do dig Jessica's pretty blue dress and shorter &""do. And hey, if I were a dog, I certainly wouldn't mind traveling in style.

Well, you can't win them all. After a decent dressing streak, Britney has hit a flat note with this mismatched apricot tee, camel coat, and black velour pants en route to the dance studio. But – what's this? The Louis Vuitton Monogram Shimmer Comete? Now that's what I call a silver lining. The elegant – but not stuffy – purse is just the kind of style influence Brit Brit needs. Now if only the rest of her clothes will follow suit. You can do it, girl!

Forget Uma and Oprah – it's Madonna and Mahina time! The Material Girl lived up to her name (er, almost literally) by toting this mega-expensive moon-inspired Louis Vuitton Mahina XL handbag. This is one of my favorite Louis Vuittons, partly because I'm a sucker for black designer handbags that offer some semblance of versatility, and also because I love the subtle, black-dipped monogram. And how's this for functionality – the ruched, buckled sides can be adjusted to allow more room. Smart, and chic.
